ABOUT US :
Charity Work
Charity begins at home and right now Shanghai is home to all of us. The Indian Association is involved in a lot of charitable activities. For instance:
The "School Sponsorship Project" (RMB 16,500) which helps underprivileged children by providing for their books, school supplies, lunches, school uniforms, class and school activities.
Air-conditioners (RMB 12,000) to Laoximen Old Folks Home and Laoximen Handicapped Rehabilitation Center
Shanghai Small Animal Protection Association (RMB 10,000) for rehabilitation of wounded, sick and abandoned animals (some who were deserted during the SARS scare)
Undergarments to the Mental Institute of Civil Affairs Shanghai (RMB 10,000)
The Smile Train (RMB 10,000) the world's largest cleft charity which helps children worldwide by providing free medical treatment
Time and again the Indian Association has proven that it is more than a social club and has pledged to continue providing a helping hand to the underprivileged in the future as well.
